Well according to the research ,it because it refers to beaded slippers , worn by a nyonya to complete her "Kebaya Sarung " outfit , together with chained brooches ( keronsang )and a silver belt ( tali pendang). One of the distinct features of Peranakan tiles that sets it apart from Western decorative tiles is the manner in which they are displayed. While in Europe they are used to decorate the interior walls of a structure, for example, around a fire place, Peranakan tiles are often used to adorn the exterior of a building or structure, including the front door and windows, as well as to beautify household items such as dressers, tea tables and foot rests. Baba Nyonya furniture are to most attractive things when you step into the house .

One thing that made me interested about it , they furniture are all made of wood , thats influenced by the chinese and malays style . their furniture was typically made of hard, dark woods, usually inlaid with ivory, mother-of-pearl, or patternated with lighter woods on top, or else fitted with marble slabs. Marble was cooling to the touch, making it comfortable to sit on, as well as being attractive to look at. Baba Nyonya furniture comprised of tables, chairs, foot-stools, cabinets, day-beds and couches.
